British Columbia pairs some of the country's slickest gaming floors with the coast and the mountains. From a riverside resort minutes from the airport to a downtown design landmark and a full resort out in the Fraser Valley, the province does the casino-hotel unusually well.

This guide reviews British Columbia's best hotels with an on-site casino and ranks them out of ten. For each we weigh the same four things: the casino floor, the rooms, the dining and extras, and the location and value. The scores are our own — we take no payment for a place in the ranking.

Every hotel here has a real, licensed casino on the property, is adults-only at the gaming floor, and is a place to relax first and play second. One entry, our Coquitlam pick, is a casino without rooms of its own — we flag it clearly and point you to hotels nearby. Figures are approximate and change, so confirm with the venue before you travel.

Summitandsuite

Four things make a great casino-hotel.

We stay, we play and we score against the same four measures every time. Read the full method on our Summitandsuite page.

01

The casino

The size and quality of the gaming — the tables, the poker room, the slots and the high-limit areas — and how the floor feels to play.

02

The rooms

The comfort, style and value of the hotel itself, and how short the trip is from the gaming floor to a good night's sleep.

03

Dining & extras

The restaurants, bars, spa, theatre and other reasons to stay that turn a night at the tables into a full getaway.

04

Location & value

Where it sits in the region, how easy it is to reach, what else is nearby, and whether the package is worth the money.

Good to know

British Columbia casino-hotel questions.

Which British Columbia hotel has the biggest casino?

River Rock in Richmond runs the largest casino floor in the province, under the same roof as its resort hotel minutes from Vancouver International Airport.

Do all these venues have a hotel on site?

Four of the five do — River Rock, Parq, Grand Villa and Cascades all have rooms on or attached to the property. Hard Rock in Coquitlam is a casino without its own hotel, so we point you to the Tri-Cities hotels nearby.

How old do I have to be to enter the casino?

The venues in this guide operate a strict 21+ door policy. Bring valid photo ID, which is checked at the casino entrance.

Are these online casinos?

No. This is a guide to real, land-based casinos and casino-hotels you can visit in person in British Columbia. It is not an online casino, and no real-money play takes place on this site.

How do your ratings work?

Each venue is scored out of ten against four measures — the casino floor, the rooms, dining and extras, and location and value. The scores are our editorial opinion; we take no payment for the ranking.
